Explore Mérida and Yucatán
The Yucatán Riviera is a tropical paradise filled with ecological reserves, hundreds of species of flora and fauna, and more than 200 miles of coastline. Its capital city, Mérida, was founded in 1542 and built on top of the ancient Mayan city of T’ho.
Yucatán holds more than 3 thousand cenotes and underwater caves, five protected natural reserves, and eighteen archeological sites waiting to be explored by those keen on ancient history and culture.
Flights and Connectivity
The Merida International Airport-MID is one of four airports in Mexico which has an Area Control Center. Mérida Center controls air traffic over the southeast part of Mexico, largely traffic going from Central America, South America, and the Caribbean to the United States and Canada.
MID is the second largest airport in the ASUR Group in terms of passengers, handling over 2 million travelers a year.

Cruise Ships
Another well-known stop for cruises sailing the Caribbean is Progreso, Yucatán. The Progreso cruise port offers one terminal that can host up to two cruise ships at a time, making the Port of Progreso an easy stop for most major cruise lines.
